‘Simmer Dim’ Evening Tours. (June and July only)
These ‘special’ tours are designed for you to enjoy Shetland at is best as the sun sinks slowly behind the sea in the north-west. At mid-summer the sun just dips below the horizon giving us long light evenings and short twilit nights.
Transport will be by mini-bus allowing you both comfort and all round views.
If you wish, on your return from the tour you can be dropped off at your accommodation.
‘Simmer Dim’ Tours are for group bookings. A booking is required from a group with a minimum size of 4 persons for a tour to operate. Please note that these tours will operate only when the expected weather conditions are favourable.
‘Simmer Dim Special‘ Scenic Drive and short walk. Tingwall, Trondra and Burra.
We will take a scenic drive with stops through the Tingwall valley, steeped in ancient history, then on through the island of Trondra to make a short stop in picturesque Hamnavoe in West Burra.
We will continue south to where two halves of Burra meet at Bridge End then on through historic Papil to Duncansclate. This is the site of the Easthouse croft featured in the BBC Restoration series. We will stop here long enough to have a late evening stroll on one of Shetland’s finest beaches at Bannaminn before returning to Lerwick.
Depart Lerwick 1930 return by 2315.
